My decades-old PU leather (polyurethane leather) FootJoy golf shoes use a spike standard that is obsolete, difficult-to-find, and very expensive to replace, so I got these Zakey golf shoes, which use what is probably the most common type of spikes.
I got the white-on-white version and I really like the looks. The PU leather is soft and attractive.
I have a medium-width foot and I always wear a men’s size 8.5 shoe, so I ordered size 8.5 and they fit perfectly. The shoes are comfortable and grip the ground well. The shoes come with comfortable, good-quality, foam footbeds, that are removeable in case you want to replace the footbeds with your own orthotics.
Each shoe accepts 9 spikes (18 total). The shoes come with 22 spikes, leaving 4 spare spikes. The spikes are not pre-inserted, so you’ll have to do that yourself. A spike wrench is included.
We’ll see how they hold up, but they seem well made so I expect them to last a long time. If they fail to meet my expectations, I’ll revise this review (written 2024-10-08). These are good-looking, well functioning shoes at a good price, so 5-stars.
I recently received the Ask Echo Golf Shoes for Men, and they are great!! They keep my feet dry even on damp mornings. The spikes provide excellent grip on the course. They’re comfortable and durable, perfect for walking 18 holes of golf. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality golf shoes for a good price.

Yo tengo un pie muy ancho y me quedan fenomenal.. es verdad que pedí una talla y media más... pero no me arrepiento, para los que tengais un pie normal de ancho, pedid vuestra talla porque son bastante exactas. Parecen bastante impermeables, solo me queda probarlos en el campo para ver qué tal se comportan.. Considero que ha sido una Muy buena compra.. !!!! ESPERO DECIR LO MISMO EN UN MES !!!!

Does the leather on the G1 need a leather conditioner or just a good cleaning?
For general care, you should wipe down the shoes with a clean, damp rag after each use. This will keep them nice and clean. For more stubborn stains, dilute a mild detergent in water and clean using that solution. Once or twice a year, use a leather conditioner/lotion on the shoes. This will keep the leather nice and soft and reduce the appearance of creases.
Is it possible to change the spikes after use?
Yes, the cleats on the G1 shoes are replaceable.
How long does it take for the shoes to break in?
For most wearers, the shoes are good to go right out of the box. However, after 9-18 holes of golf (or some walking around your home), the shoes should feel nice and broken in.
Are the G1 waterproof?
The Originals shoes are waterproof.
Are they leather?
The G1 shoes are made with synthetic uppers.
Expected life span of traction for a 3X a week golfer?
The traction on the shoes should last the life of the shoe, under normal use. It is a question that is asked often pre-purchase, but complaints after the fact are very limited.
Do they run small or large on sizing
The G1 model runs slightly large, with many folks finding that adjusting a half-size down affords the most proper fit.
